You have to see this!! Check out some of our favorite past-time male musicians. When society thinks of cosmetics, they generally think of women. Not in these photos.
The loads of make-up is extreme. Some are not so bad, but some are just plain ridiculous. Look at Dee Sinder from Twisted Sister. He kinda looks like he is dressing up for Halloween. I hope he did not consider this job a piece of art.

Society usually does put women and cosmetics hand in hand. I agree with you on that. After looking at the pictures, I think that most of the male musicians were just trying to draw attention towards themselves. Society notices things that stand out. Whenever people think of Kiss, they picture a group with painted faces and wild costumes. Without this, they would not be as popular. The Twisted Sister picture is over the top with makeup. All these musicians have their own opinion of what looks good and they have the right to express their own unusual artistic taste.
